And every time a song by Tom Freund pops up I’ve got to check the display because it is so good. I first heard Tom when I bought his debut North American Lost Weekend. What struck me besides the songs and the voice was the acoustic bass sounds on that disc, well it turns out Tom Freund is an in-demand bassist for many groups (The Silos, Graham Parker among others). His first actual recorded output is a duo record with Ben Harper called Pleasure and Pain that was a limited edition vinyl release that is now long gone.
