I’ve always liked about half of the music from Arab Strap. I just learned why. Malcolm Middleton is half of Arab Strap, I’m pretty sure he’s the half I like. He’s got a new record that came out on Chemical Underground Records on June 15th.
The first track from Into The Woods is the disarming “Break My Heart” and with lines like “I don’t want to sing these shite songs anymore” it’s unclear where the record will go from there . His celtic vocals and thick accent make him sound like the lost member of The Proclaimers.
But where The Proclaimers music was uplifting Malcolm’s is downhearted, highlighted by song titles like “Devastation” and “Loneliness Shines”.
