Downpilot’s Like You Believe It is the latest release from the downer label Roslyn Recordings (also Transmissionary Six). In fact they’ve coined the term “twangst” for the consistently gloomy sound of the bands on their label. The new record, Like You Believe It is brooding and dark, like American Music club on downers if you can imagine that. Nontheless or perhaps because of this the band received a 4 star review in Rolling Stone (does that even matter anymore?).
The best place to buy this for now is CdBaby here.

PS I wrote about Megan Palmer a while back here. Now her self released record has been picked up for Nationbal distribution by the label Sunken Treasures. She plays Chicago tonight and has released a few more mpfree’s from the new record.
Here’s the info:
September 10 – Chicago, IL – Red Line Tap, solo, with Eric Nassau
Thank you for the info on Downpilot. I really enjoy some of the songs from their last CD and didn’t realize that they had released a new one.
You can also hear Downpilot guesting on another Roslyn band’s new record, a band called the Transmissionary Six. The website for free/streaming mp3s is http://www.rodeosatellite.com
Seems like a nice little label.
Craig, didnt know if you were aware but Robert Duffy, who runs Donewaiting, also runs Sunken Treasure Records. And Megan is great btw….
