I read somewhere that Langhorne Slim got signed to V2 which proves there is some justice in the world. And impossibly, at least from this one song, V2 is not out to change Slim’s sound.
Langhorne’s new record called The Engine is an ep due out Sept. 19. “Honey Pie” is a loud, fast and ballsy blues. What sets it apart from blues you might have heard in the deep South in the 40′s is the Hammond organ droning in the background. This is probably a full band but I like to imagine Langhorne bashing this one out all on his own; foot a stompin’, guitar neck practically throttled and veins starting to bulge dangerously out of his head. You can hear the more acoustic rambling folk side of Langhorne Slim on the new song “Restless” on his MySpace page.

If I was infinitely more hip I would share with you the three new dub-space rock instrumental tracks from The octopus Project’s collaboration with Black Moth Super Rainbow out soon on Graveface Records (pre-order soon). Oh wait a minute I guess I am that hip.
