Goldrush

Goldrush is an impossibly American sounding name for a rural English band to have. But this band, with it’s updated americana sound, has every right to use it. The band’s new album and last, The Heart Is the Place, came out in the beginning of Jan. on CitySlang in the UK and will be released worldwide in Feb./March. I wrote about the Goldrush spinoff band Dusty Sound System here. Previous albums have been produced by David Fridman (Flaming Lips/Mercury Rev) and while you can still hear elements of that type of sound these songs sound bigger, a little more epic. Goldrush has opened for Brian Jonestown Massacre, Calexico, Flaming Lips and Broken Social Scene and they claim to have drawn on those experiences to shape this new record as well.

“Every One Of Us” is all swirling psychedelia weighed down with a solid backbeat and anthemic lyrics.

Every One Of Us
