I’m sure that if I did a little research I’d find out that Jana Hunter has been compared to Marissa Nadler, Joanne Newsom, Vashti Bunyan and any of their male counterparts (Devendra Banhart, Will Oldham, etc). But from what I’ve heard I find her eminently more listenable and likeable but yet as “out there” as they come. “Babies” is a new song off the upcoming record There’s No Home due out some time in March.
Jana’s other new song is a “lullabye” of sorts taken from Blog Up’s second cd compilation of songs to put children to sleep (or give them nightmares depending on the child) called Have a Good Night 2. Jana should be all over SxSW, look her up if you head down there.
