More undiscovered talent (by me anyway) of 2006 – Idgy Vaughn

Awhile back I wrote about some of the performers I missed out on in 2006. And now here’s another. Idgy Vaughn. Idgy has a story right out of TV sitcom land. She was a single parent waitressing at a bus stop in Buda, Texas when one of her customers won the lottery and lent her enough money to record her debut record. Her luck continued when BBC 2 started airing an unmastered version of one of her new songs. She’s won “Best New Act” and one of “Texas’ Top Ten Albums of 2006″ as well as winning awards at the KerrevilleFestiville. Here’s “Good Enough” a song we’d all be talking about if it were by Lucinda Williams or Sheryl Crow.

Good Enough
