The Linemen (plus Dale Watson’s new video)

The Linemen would be perfect for my failed honky-tonk Friday feature. The Linemen don’t seem to do a hard country though; instead they flitter around the edges of Buddy Holly, The Derailers, and Dwight Yoakum. I’m no expert but these two songs; and especially “Through Side One” with it’s references to vinyl, listening to all the sad songs, Ray Price, and finding some solace in music; are pretty special.

In more news from the realm of honky tonk, Dale Watson’s new record, from the cradle to the grave, is now available from Hyena Records. I wrote about it here back in February. Here’s his new video for the song “Justice For All” starring that dude from Desperate Housewives. Pre-order this April 24th release here now.
