i’m not sure if it was ripe when it first came out, but i think john walker has increased in potency over the years. somehow i find it more affecting now than i did during the initial media flap.

i guess political songs are like that – they are either too timely or completely timeless. it’s a trick.

Thanks for the Earle clips. His music got a little too pedantic for me after El Corazon. I might agree with 70% of his politics, but I don’t necessarily want to hear about it in every song. I will seek out this new cd. Sounds like he is back to being a songwriter first, an activist second.
