i always imagined US radio to be pretty cool, looks like its just as crap as it is here. with a few noticable exceptions….like my show:)

Came here to say what Scott said. I live in Dallas, and besides the Range, which is fuzzy sounding where I live, Radio is a wasteland.

As lerjoy states, listen to KUT when in Austin.

Perhaps the funniest thing about KGSR is they describe themselves as community radio, they are not “public radio,” and you'll know this the first time a 10-minute commercial break comes your way.

And all good folks in Austin know that fine music comes out of KUT 90.5

… sad thing is that many people would give a lot to have radio this good in their area. Compared to 95% of what else you'll find on the dial, this is gold. True, it's one-dimensional and big-label-centric. But almost any terrestrial station that doesn't go that way won't be able to remain on the air. Anymore, 'community radio' is typically the only place on the dial where you'll find programmers knowledgeable and passionate enough to break this chain. Pledge early and often, folks.
