I miss Indie for the times when I'm in my car for ten minutes and don't want to bother with the iPod. And Watsui Rodeo was a great show. But it was only a matter of time...

Wow! That Antsy McClain just blew me away! As one of those guys, who many years ago worked as a "Captain Midnight" at a medium market station, this song sums it up. Those of us lucky enough to have held those positions were the last to be able to program at least a little bit of our own music. We were also able to take requests and try our best to fit them in. We also got to talk to that lonely lady who thought we were her lover, and the guy who'd call every hour asking if we thought it was going to rain tomorrow, even though the forecast called for frigging rain all day. If radio can ever purify itself, Captain Midnight might be back. Many will say that the ship has sailed already, and it's far too late, but I won't give up hope. "Live and local" radio will be it's only salvation.

Interesting that you would make such a broad assumption as to the intentions of the people at Indie. There were a lot of people trying to make that station the best it could be, while others were trying to turn it into something more corporate in order to get advertising dollars to keep it around. One side won, and it wasn't the good side. So, let's just dismiss the hard work by a bunch of music lovers?

You just keep your nose turned up. It's so much easier to do, isn't it?
