ha, yeah, it's weird how I think of Songs: Illinois as being as well known as Stereogum (at least in comparison to Muruch), but I guess your situation is similar to mine...just because our blogs are as old as the big guys obviously doesn't make us nearly as popular. Oh well.

I finally got to listen to "Nasty Tasty" and I have mixed reactions. I definitely like it. It sounds very similar to songs on their last album, but a little more pop. Great for one song, but I'm even more curious about the rest of the album now. I hope they don't follow Amanda Palmer's example of trying to go pop, that just doesn't work well for the demented circus type bands.

Btw, if you like them, I recommend 17 Hippies.

Aw, how quickly obscure bands abandon obscure blogs once they get a record deal. I raved about Luminescent Orchestrii's “Too Hot To Sleep” album two years ago over at Muruch. Oh well, I'm just excited to hear they finally have a new release and hope to finally catch them on tour this year. Thanks for the download!

I saw them at Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, NY this last summer and I was very impressed. One of my favorite shows of the whole fest.
