Alright I may or may not be back from my temporary hiatus. However I did want to thank everyone for retweeting, blogging about, emailing friends about, and generally supporting my campaign to get more attention for Sam Baker’s new CD cotton. In the meantime listen to this song off of the new limited edition 10″ lp by Dayna Kurtz and Mamie Minch. The lp is called For The Love Of Hazel and features songs popularized by Hazel Dickens. These women lay their hearts out on the line with versions stripped of any and all adornments. The power of the songs come through loud and clear. I can’t help thinking this is what secular gospel music would sound like.
